Birmingham is host city for the 18th edition of SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit, a unique event where sports business leaders, the International Olympic Committee, all the International Federations, organisers of future Olympic and Paralympic Games and other major events, as well as a multitude of sport-related associations and companies, come together over several days in one location.
British Kabaddi League – WV Active Aldersley, Wolverhampton (19-21 April); Centre AT7, Coventry (2-6 May); Birmingham, Walsall tbc
The British Kabaddi League (BKL) was formed in 2022 by English and Scottish Kabaddi, with support from the West Midlands Growth Company and its Business and Tourism Programme (BATP). Since the league’s inception, the sport has gone from strength to strength in the UK with the West Midlands hosting the 2025 Kabaddi World Cup for the first time.
England v Pakistan Women’s IT20, Edgbaston Stadium (11 May); England v Pakistan Men’s IT20, Edgbaston Stadium (25 May)
Edgbaston is set to host some of the biggest names in international cricket when Pakistan Men’s and Women’s teams arrive in Birmingham next May to take on England. It’ll be the first time England and Pakistan have gone head-to-head in an IT20 at Edgbaston and anticipation is already building.
The women’s game opens the 2024 Major Match calendar on Saturday 11 May with the men following on Saturday 25 May in what is a clash between the current IT20 World Cup winners and runners-up. Both teams have some great names of modern day T20 cricket as well as some of the most exciting young cricketers too.
England v West Indies, Test Match, Edgbaston Stadium (26-30 July)
Edgbaston is set for another stunning summer of international cricket with a five-day Test Match between England and the West Indies for the first time since 2017.

Grand Slam of Darts, WV Active Aldersley, Wolverhampton (9-17 November)
The 18th edition of the Grand Slam of Darts will be held at the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton with Luke Humphries defending the title he won last year against Rob Cross in the final.
